You’ll be greeted by a resident of Curacao, in the local language Papiamentu. Curacao is the largest island of the Netherlands Antilles. It covers an area of 444 km2. It’s 61 km long and the narrowest part is about 5 km wide, the widest 13 km, and is about 70 km from the coast of Venezuela.
Curaçao has about 150,000 inhabitants. The capital of Curacao and the Netherlands Antilles is Willemstad, which is also the only city on the island. To the south is a small uninhabited island called Little Curacao. The island is about two and a half km long and not even 1 km wide. There is only a lighthouse.
The landscape of Curacao is mainly flat with hills. The highest point is the Christoffelberg (372m), in the Christoffel Park. The north coast is wild and not suitable for swimming. It’s steep and rocky. The south coast has bays and shallow inlets, thats where you’ll find most beaches and bays. For the southern part of the southwest coast there is the underwater park. A nice central location.
Bubi Blou Apartments has also a beautiful central location. Most tourist attractions, bakeries and supermarkets are all within 10 minutes by car. The apartment complex is located in the south east of Curacao. Only if you want to visit the beautiful west point you will need to spend about 55 km, but this is also a nice ride by car. Cycling is not recommended except by nature. The asphalt is sometimes bad and so it’s dangerous. Also they know traffic jams, that will originated when schools start (07:15 hours) and the schools go out again (13:15 hours). The Cas Grandi neighborhood is known as a quiet, safe and especially well-located residential area. A nice place where it’s easily to begin visit all the tourist spots of the island and afterwards enjoy a wonderful holiday in our nice apartment complex.
